Salomon Geisha (2012)
Though it's not ultra-fat, at 97 mm, the Geisha is the widest women's ski Salomon makes, with a long sidecut radius that will love high speeds and wide-open spaces. It's a wood-core, monocoque (structural cap) construction, with a layer of bamboo for liveliness, as well as one of basalt for durability. Salomon's All-Terrain Rocker combines zero camber with a rockered tip, so it will be buoyant in soft snow and smooth-riding in rough terrain, yet still responsive on the groomed. Extra wide, reinforced edges are built to be extra durable. What's more, they're further reinforced: strong polyethylene fibers are used to secure the two edges to each other across the width of the ski, to make it harder to rip one out.
