Descended from the Impact 10 (AME), the 8 landed in the AMC category, but testers thought it could hold its own as an AME. Its geometry puts you in a balanced stance on edge, so you never need to hunt and peck for a solid platform. The cuff adapts to variations in leg shape, which improves steering. Salomon trimmed costs on the liner, but lateral power transmission is lightning quick. “Abundant comfort with close-to-the-foot fit,” said Schaffner.
