Salomon Impact 8 CS (2010)
The Impact 8 gets the same Custom Shell technology as the Impact 10 (see Men’s Freeride), and it’s cool to see Salomon offering it at this lower price point. That means blessed relief for wide feet, without the need to upsize into a sloppier fit. It’s a couple of shades softer than the 10, with a cushier liner, but still skis with integrity. “Outperforms the category but still forgiving,” said Wax.
