Salomon Lord (2012)
The returning Lord, a Gold Medal selection in previous years, is an all-mountain semi-twin-tip width a versatile shape that makes it a good choice as an everyday, all-conditions ski for Eastern or Western skiers. It's a wood-core, double-monocoque (structural cap) construction, with a two-layer cap spanning edge to edge for enhanced power. Salomon's All-Terrain Rocker combines zero camber with a rockered tip, so it will be buoyant in soft snow and smooth-riding in rough terrain, yet still responsive on the groomed. Extra wide, reinforced edges are built to be extra durable. What's more, they're further reinforced: strong polyethylene fibers are used to secure the two edges to each other across the width of the ski, to make it harder to rip one out. Pulse Pad technology-a strip of rubber over the edge-quiets vibrations. The moderate sidecut will prefer medium- to small-radius arcs.
