Salomon Mynx (2007)
Pro The Mynx was a welcome injection of youthful exuberance in the test. Salomon created it to be a slopestyle ski—wider than a true park ski, but twin-tipped and jib-ready. None of the female testers were spotted throwing down switch 3s in the park, but they were delighted with the Mynx’s all-mountain performance, especially in soft snow, where its 81-mm waist shines. Like most park skis, the Mynx is center-mounted, and that’s the way we tested it, though it can also be mounted 2 cm back for a more traditional feel. The center-mount suits women well, and testers were impressed with the forgiving nature of such a wide ride. "Awesome," said Wilde. "Perfect weight, easy to turn, fun in bumps, great snow-contact." Con Poor hard-snow versatility; sluggish in short turns.
