Salomon Origins Lava + L9 B80 (2012)
The Lava, which is available flat or with a binding system, shares the same shape as the Intense Black but in a less-expensive, more forgiving construction that will suit less-aggressive women better. Like the Intense, it's a double-monocoque (structural cap) construction, but it's built on a foam core instead of wood, making it lighter and less powerful, with just a single layer of metal to quiet the ride. Salomon's All-Terrain Rocker combines zero camber with a rockered tip, so it will be buoyant in soft snow and smooth-riding in rough terrain, yet still responsive on the groomed. The Lava is available with a binding or flat. The system version comes with the lightweight L9 binding, which has a maximum DIN of 9.
