Salomon X Wave 10.0 Spaceframe (2006)
Where Salomon's Pro Model leaves off, the X Wave (and comparable Rush 9.0 for women) takes over, offering a roomier fit and stiffer flex better suited to meatier feet and heavier people. Testers almost universally praised the fit: "My feet feel like they're in waterbeds," says Ross. But there's more to it than comfortable fit: Stance, ramp and cuff height put the skier in an ideal posture for aggressive, balanced skiing. The hardware is thoughtfully designed and executed. And the X Wave's liner is designed so that, when heated, it molds not only to the foot, but to the interior of the shell as well. The Rush version has a lower cuff, softer flex, and a warmer and women-specific liner.
PRICE (MSRP): $725.00
