Salomon X-Wing Fury (2008)
Full wood core, carbon reinforcement and Salomon’s strongest construction: Sounds like the ingredients for muscular, unforgiving performance. But the Fury struck testers as one of the lightest, quickest and most exuberant rides in the test. It had the narrowest waist in the category, and shouldn’t be considered a powder specialist. Nor was stability its strong suit. But it won fans for its ease and alacrity in mild chop and even bumps. "Forgiving, light and agile," said Howard.

Not For
Ripping difficult conditions.
