Testers were surprised by how well the boot put skis on edge and held them there at speed. Accurate edging movements combined with ultra light weight make it a self-powered ascender's solution for occasional in area days. This is not a Freeride crossover boot. It’s a dedicated AT boot with a rockered Vibram sole and tech-binding compatible inserts. Still, testers said it held its own during high performance skiing maneuvers. The boot's Grilamid plastic construction is at the heart of its tough character. The material makes for a rigid framework despite a thin shell wall. It is also tight, said our testers. Many sized up. The boot sole length is shorter than typical for the marked size (i.e. 306mm for a 27.5). Testers love the ease of entry on this cabrio style three-piece shell and reported that the flex feel was progressive and smooth. The touring range of motion was smooth and long enough for our test crew and the flip-switch release is extremely easy to operate.
