Kirkwood, CA Oct 27, 2004 — Get out those costumes and head for the mountains! Mother Nature dropped another two feet of snow at Kirkwood Mountain Resort on Tuesday, enabling the resort to open two more chairs and another 600 acres of terrain for the coming weekend. Chair 6 (Cornice Express) and Chair 1 (Snowkirk) will open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, bringing the total acreage open for skiing and riding to nearly 1000.
When was the last time you saw a Witch on skis? Come on out to Kirkwood this weekend and you'll see plenty of witches, wizards, monsters, mermaids and fairies flying around the slopes! After the lifts close at 4:00, visitors can sample some bubbling Witches Brew along with other Halloween and football drink specials at the after-party in Bub's Sports Bar.
The four open lifts, Chairs 1, 5, 11, and 6 access beginner, lowerintermediate, intermediate, black diamond and double black diamond runs. Rentals will be available on the Village Plaza. Ski School will be open for first-time skiers and riders and private lessons. Kirkwood Sports and the General Store will be open for business, as will Monte Wolfe's Coffeehouse and Deli, the Village Plaza Bar-be-que, Bub's Sports Bar and the historic Kirkwood Inn.
