WHISTLER, Canada — Whistler based Prior Snowboards, known throughout the world as manufacturers of premium, handcrafted snowboards and skis, has announced the introduction of "Sister, a Women's Freeride ski for limited release for winter 2005/06. Sister is the third Prior Ski model to be offered to the public and fills an important niche in its popular ski line.
"As soon as we released the Original Prior Ski onto the market last season we realized it was not suitable for many women and immediately began experimenting on a women's specific style, remarked Chris Prior, company founder. "The Sister ski is approximately 15 percent softer and has a slightly narrower waist — these features more accurately fit a women's physique and allow them increased performance. Sister is made for experienced women skiers; however it is suitable for women of all ability levels.
Sister is designed for and excels in Whistler type terrain of all kinds including deep snow, groomers, park and pipe hits, and assorted variable terrain. Its progressive design with upturned, rounded tip and tail does not hang up the rider in the powder and allows women to ride backwards. Tasteful graphics complete the performance package.
Sister is being released in a limited quantity for 20005/06 and can be obtained directly from the Prior factory or at www.priorskis.com for $720.
Prior has been handcrafting snowboards since 1990. The company offers a complete line of high-performance and custom snowboards to suit all riding styles and preferences. In the fall of 2004 Prior introduced the Prior 'Original' freeride ski, a product it had been developing for three years. All Prior snowboards and skis are made at the Prior factory in Whistler, Canada, the company's home for research and development over the past fifteen years.
