Today's wider skis, if not sharp, tend to founder on hardpack. Your options? Ski like a tourist or take charge of your edges. Two products from Sun Valley Ski Tools make the job easier. The Double Duty Side Edge Beveler ($20) holds a file and a polishing stone at the correct angle. File your edges sharp, then polish them to a shine. Advanced tuners will want a set of Moon Flex Diamond Files. They're spendy ($170 for five grits), but are long-lasting and versatile. Don't know a side-edge from a sidewalk?
