Pro It’s not surprising that the True Luv, a versatile all-mountain ski, put up similar results to the 5 Com. They’re essentially the same ski, though the True is adapted for women, with a forward-waisted sidecut and a core that uses lighter woods at tip and tail to reduce swing weight. But the female testers especially loved the True’s high-end performance, and for some women, it’ll be a credible alternative to the pricier Lotta Luv. The Lotta is damper, wider and metal-reinforced, so its speed limit is higher, and it’s better in soft snow. But the True excels in short turns, its all-glass construction is livelier, and it’s certainly a better choice for intermediates. So it’s a matter of taste and budget. Howard called the True a "super-chill performer; easy yet solid and stable." Con Lacks grip on ice and frozen corduroy.
