Volkl Aura (2009)
Maybe you don't know what Titanal is, but after one run on the Aura, you'll never forget what it feels like. Similar to the men's Mantra but lighter-weight, the Aura's wood core is reinforced with two bands of metal (actually, Titanal: a titanium/aluminum alloy), which give it Völkl's trademark stability. And with vertical sidewalls, it's definitely on the burly side, but its damp, solid feel inspires confidence at speed. "Flex is very even, with a nice rebound," said Dawson.
