The Bridge is what this category is all about: sensibly priced skis that any of our testers would be happy to spend a winter on. Volkl keeps it affordable-not to mention light and playful-by sandwiching its wood core with layers of carbon-glass weave instead of metal. The tip-to-tail rocker and turned-up tail add still more maneuverability, and the rocker works with sidecut to put edge on snow for carving fun. "The full rocker was a pleasure," said Lewis.
