Volkl Kiku (2009)
Kiku is the Japanese art of cultivating perfect blossoms. That's fitting for the No. 1 ski in almost every criteria. The Kiku only comes in two sizes, but even our tiny tester (sorry, Schaffer) found the longer length effortless. Its torsion-box construction flexes beautifully, and its twin tips maneuver effortlessly in the deep. Testers' only complaint? They couldn't take it home. "I was one with the mountain on this ski," said Schaffer.
