Volkl Shiro (2013)
Tester's Review
Inherent stability (No. 3) blended with the float and shock absorption of tip-to-tail rocker adds up to the No. 1 crud buster of the category. The Shiro, which was No. 3 in Flotation, prefers wide-open spaces and deep snow, but for all its width it's an adept carver on hard snow (No. 3), where all it asks is a little patience between edge sets. And a couple inches of fresh seemed enough to make it happy. It penalizes sudden moves but amply rewards a flowing, powerful attack. And credit Volkl for keeping the price reasonable.
PRICE (MSRP): $825.00
