Las Vegas, NV, January 29, 2003-Gorsuch Ltd. of Vail, Colorado, was named National Ski Shop of the Year by SKI senior editor Joe Cutts at an awards party at the SIA show today. The honor was part of the fifth annual SKI Magazine Gold Medal Ski Shops program, which selects North America's 60 top shops.
"Gorsuch is an experience in itself that raises the ski shop to an art form," said Cutts. "It's what so many vacationers want from a high-end ski town shop, even if they didn't know they wanted it."

The winning shops were selected from four years of surveys by more than 8,000 readers of 1,500 ski shops in North America. Readers rate the shops in six categories: staff expertise; selection; price and value; backshop and tuning; bootfitting and innovative programs.
The shops are also reviewed by a panel of 12 ski industry experts. The winning shops will be highlighted in the September 2003 Buyer's Guide edition of SKI magazine.
"These top retailers are manning the frontlines of our sport and industry," Cutts added. "They truly deserve this recognition-and our support."
