BRECKENRIDGE, COApril 7, 2008 – With remarkable snow still blanketing the four peaks at Breckenridge Ski Resort and a 20-day party during April, Breckenridge's Spring Massive is a must-attend event. Below are just a few Spring Massive events. For the full schedule, check out www.springmassive.com.

On April 12, the Breckenridge Beer Festival combines two things: legendary music and great beer. The Massive Beer Festival at Main Street Station features 17 microbrews and craft beers with unlimited tasting. Of course one can't enjoy fine beer without some tunes. Live music at the Beer Festival includes the alterative country rock of The Railbenders, the sweet sounds of Tony Furtado's banjo and slide guitar, and The Subdudes' blending of blues, gospel and funk. Cost is $30 per person at the door. For information and tickets call KSMT at 970-453-2234 or visit ksmtradio.com.

A great party must include a street bash. During closing weekend, Coors Light and Breckenridge present the smooth soul of Grace Potter and The Nocturnals, Friday, April 18, at 5 P.M. On Saturday, April 19, at 3 P.M., take in rock infused with steel drums and slide guitar as headliner Robert Randolph and the Family Band jam Ridge Street for the free Massive music concert finale.

Get the last great workout of the winter at Breck's famous Imperial Challenge. On April 19, the 12th annual Imperial Challenge kicks off with a 6.2-mile mountain bike ride from downtown Breckenridge across Peak 7 to Peak 8. Then move on to a 2,500-foot skin ascent to the top of Peak 8's Imperial Bowl. Once reaching the top, race competitors descend to the base of Peak 8. For the lung-burning challenge, register at Great Adventure Sports or call 970-453-0333.

For those who prefer just going downhill, the Bump Buffet brings the season to a close. Steeped in local tradition, the 28th Annual Breckenridge Bump Buffet brings out the county's best telemarkers for one last run down High Anxiety. The Bump Buffet takes place on closing day Sunday, April 20. Call Caren Mapes for information 970-485-2475.
