Boulder, Colo. Oct. 29, 2002 (Time 4 Media Release)--Time4 Media's SKI Magazine and CNN have teamed up to produce a series of 90-second vignettes comprised of information pulled from the pages of the magazine, called "Mountain Life." The vignettes, to be produced by CNN, will be written and voiced over by the editors of SKI and will incorporate footage from Time4's extensive Warren Miller Films library.
"Mountain Life" will launch this week and will run on CNN, Headline News and CNN Airport Network through March 2003. Each will end with a 20-second cross-platform billboard referring viewers to SKI for more information. Similarly, beginning with the January issue of the magazine, out on newsstands December 15, one-third page fractional units will run in SKI to promote the on-air component.
"We're extremely pleased to be working with CNN to create an editorial series for their viewers," said Andy Clurman, President of Mountain Sports Media's SKI. "It's a powerful way to reinforce our expertise while simultaneously introducing viewers to our magazine."
The series will cover topics such as how to layer clothes to stay warm; the best dining in the mountains; how to deal with elevation and avoid high-altitude sickness; five easy tips to introduce kids to winter; and how to make winter travel easy.
"The SKI vignette series is our first with a lifestyle book," said Stan Kapica, Vice President, CNN Global Client Solutions. "Having access to SKI's editors and the world's largest winter sports film library, has been a luxury, and one that sets the bar going forward."
