Firefighters in Montana are welcoming colder temperatures as they battle flames near Bridger Bowl ski resort outside Bozeman. The fire began over the weekend, on a hot and windy Saturday afternoon; by Sunday it had reached the Bridger Bowl parking lot, but hadn't yet hit the ski hill. Over 350 acres are affected, most of it on private land -- though no structures had caught fire as of Sunday night.
The June 2005 decision to close the Aerial Tram in October 2006 was made following 18 months of unprecedented evaluation into all facets of Tram operations by leading industry engineers. The results required Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) to make a decision regarding ongoing tram operations.
