Ellicottville, NY- Holiday Valley's President and General Manager, Dennis Eshbaugh announced today that the Ellicottville resort will be investing $2 million to make resort improvements for the 2008-2009 season. According to Eshbaugh, "The 2007-08 winter season was a success, with over 500,000 visitors and 124 days of skiing and riding. We experienced a record breaking season, with an especially strong February and March. Our entire staff worked hard to maintain great snow conditions and excellent customer service all season long.
Nub's Nob wrestled El Niño to the mat last winter and pinned it. While other resorts were whining, Nub's had its best year ever, which may explain why readers ranked it as the top ski-only (no lodging) resort in the Midwest.
Giants Ridge broke into the Top 10 last year at No. 5 and continues to climb this year. This spunky northern Minnesota resort north of Duluth has parlayed good snow and great grooming into what skiers consider one of the best ski operations in the region.
