Libby Ludlow (Bellevue, WA), who collected her first World Cup points in giant slalom this winter, took the first-run lead in GS Tuesday and held on for her first U.S. title while Julia Mancuso (Olympic Valley, CA) finished second and earned her USA-record fifth medal at the Chevrolet U.S. Alpine Championships.

Clark 4th, Lalive 5th in Veyzonnaz Downhill

Austrian Renate Goetschl earned the 30th World Cup victory of her career Saturday, capturing a downhill by nearly a half-second over teammate Michaela Dorfmeister and Germany's Hilde Gerg, who tied for second place. Kirsten Clark was fourth and Caroline Lalive fifth, leading four U.S. skiers into the top 25.
