Killington is nothing if not persistent. For the 36th consecutive year, the Vermont giant (212 trails, 33 lifts and 3,150 vertical feet) boasted the longest season in the East.
Get lost. Get really, really lost. It's easy at Killington, where lifts and trails sprout and twine in so many directions it can feel as if the place has no boundaries.
"T-t-t-terrain!" stammers one reader. "Seven mountains' worth!" That is perhaps all that needs to be said about Killington. Like a Vail of the East, the Big K simply goes on and on-so big you could never ski it in a day, maybe not even in a week.
When Les Otten & Co. took the controls at Sugarbush, they cranked up the volume at this venerable Vermont resort-more lifts, more snow and more trails-and proclaimed it "the new Sugarbush."
