The family of injured skier Bill Johnson can imagine a time when the Olympic champion is home with them, recovering from the crash that nearly killed him. They feel he'll recover sooner than doctors think.
Olympic champion Bill Johnson has come out of a coma in his slow recovery from a devastating skiing crash three weeks ago in Montana. Doctors report he is making slight movements on his own, and that the term coma no longer applies.
The diagnosis says Bill Johnson is comatose. Johnson remained hospitalized in a coma Sunday, three days after sustaining severe head trauma after crashing during an FIS downhill, but doctors were very encouraged and impressed by his progress.
