Resorts from Maine to California are abuzz with stories of fantastic early season conditions and more skier visits than the last few years. Should the trend continue, who knows what's in store for the ski industry and its patrons.
New England's most recent storm has Eastern resorts competing with their western counterparts as far as base depths go. All the snow comes just in time for spring breaks and will certainly prolong the spring ski season.
What began with light snowfall last Sunday night culminated in more than five feet of snow being deposited on the slopes of Mt. Bachelor by Thursday morning resulting in great conditions and more open chairlifts.
