World Cup leader Michaela Dorfmeister of Austria led both runs Thursday en route to winning the last pre-Olympic giant slalom by more than a second. Kristina Koznick had the second-fastest final run and moved up 10 spots to finish ninth.
Michaela Dorfmeister of Austria tore through a sun-splashed second run Saturday to win the opening race of the Olympic season by .41 over Sonja Nef of Switzerland. Kristina Koznick (Burnsville, MN) had the best U.S. result, finishing 15th.
