Park Skiing at Breckenridge

Park Skiing at Breckenridge
Mind blowing features for the tall-t set.

On the online forum Newschoolers.com—the most popular chat and trash-talk site for tall-T’d park rats—here’s what one user had to say about Breckenridge’s park: “Breckenridge will blow your mind away. Think of an orgasm. Multiply it by another orgasm to the fourth power, and then you might be close to knowing how good it is.” It wasn’t just the puberty talking. The four parks and two pipes spread out over 25 acres pretty much make it the Megan Fox of manufactured terrain.

Ski School Spotlight: Teen Adventure Program
Sun Valley helps teens T.A.P. into their inner pros

School's back in session, so the last thing your teen wants is to feel like he's in class while he's on the slopes, right? Sun Valley's new Teen Adventure Program (T.A.P. for short) is a great way to help him improve his ski skills without landing you in detention. Teens choose from a variety of sessions, such as perfecting turns, off-piste skiing, terrain park tricks, moguls, racing and more. The half day (2.5 hour) group sessions are more like training with a coach than conventional lessons.

Where Now: Mount Snow, Vt.

Where Now: Mount Snow, Vt.

One of Vermont’s most accessible ski resorts, Mount Snow is four hours from New York City and two and a half hours from Boston.

New owners with a passion for snowmaking put this resort on springtime’s map.

Along Vermont’s scenic Route 100, a local in a red flannel shirt and grease-stained jeans starts his day by kicking the last of his driveway snowbank to pieces, hoping it will melt in the bright sun. It’s only early spring, but some people are just over winter. I am not one of them.

Especially since learning that Mount Snow has invested more than $8.5 million in state-of-the-art snowmaking equipment over the past two years. It’s time to check back in: It’s been three decades since I last visited the mountain so popular with metro New Yorkers.
