Ligety snags prestigious Adelboden victory; McKennis grabs first win at age 23.
U.S. Ski Team ace Ted Ligety continues to have the best season of his career, moving into third place in the overall standings with wins in both GS and slalom at Adelboden, Switzerland. It was another weekend of great results for the U.S. Team:
Julia Mancuso arrives at this weekend’s season-ending U.S. National Championships in Winter Park, Colorado fresh off the success of her first World Cup victory in four years in what was on paper the second-best season of her career.
Just over two weeks ago at World Cup finals in Lenzerheide, Switzerland the Squaw Valley, California native outdistanced her nearest challenger – Swiss favorite Lara Gut - by a colossal eighty-one hundredths of a second to claim the ladies downhill. For Mancuso, it was her first victory on tour in over four years dating back to March 3, 2007, when she won a downhill in Tarvisio, Italy.
