Cody, Wyoming's local hill reopens for the first skiing and riding since 2005

SKI Magazine loves its little home hill of Eldora Mountain Resort outside Boulder, Colo. Everybody should have a home hill: big enough to get in some steep thrills, small enough so the kids won't ever get lost, with a cafeteria that's more high school than high style, but whose chili is second to none.

The big red box is back, proof that, despite new luxury hotels, slopeside hot tubs, and mountaintop espresso, the Hole still has plenty of soul.

The sense of dread that creeps into my stomach as I land in Jackson Hole has nothing to do with its being the toughest ski area in North America. I’ve had my share of heart-stopping moments here but, as with many Jackson skiers, those are the memories I cherish most.

She’s Baaa-aaack...The Tram Is Here Again

The tram returns, and Jackson Hole is whole again.

It’s dumping snow, past dark and blowing like hell, but the boisterous crowd at the base of Jackson Hole is hardly fazed.
