For the second year in a row, Tremblant shines as the No. 1 resort in the East. It's easy to understand why: It boasts superior snowmaking and such classic terrain as the fuel-burning Géant and the dream-weaving Lowell Thomas. Tremblant christens the season with a new gondola that whisks skiers to the summit in 8 minutes. One problem management can't fix is the infamous weather. "Too cold too much of the time," one reader complains. Beyond the chill, there's little else to quibble about at a resort that feels like a trip to Europe. "All ski areas should be modeled after Tremblant," a reader gushes. Dining gets a boost with the new La Forge, while the nightlife remains epic at Le P'tit Caribou and Café de l'Epoque. Families will delight at Le Cirque Blanc, a state-of-the-art entertainment center. Accommodations, from Chateau Mont Tremblant to the new Lodge de la Montagne, couldn't be better. The proof: Tremblant's Lodging ranked as No. 1 in North America. Food, Dining, Service and Après-Ski also rank in the Top Five. Now ponder that Intrawest is only halfway into developing this shining star.
