Lincoln, NH, Dec. 20--Want to start the millennium with first tracks? Loon Mountain in New Hampshire is raffling off the first gondola ride of the New Year.

The lucky winner will receive the first ride in gondola number one with three friends, a McLoon breakfast sandwich in the gondola, and perhaps most importantly, the bragging rights of making the first tracks of the century.

"We wanted to do something fun for our guests," said Rick Kelley, General Manager for Loon Mountain. "We thought having bragging rights of first tracks on New Year's Day 2000 would be pretty cool."

Raffle tickets cost $10 and the proceeds benefit the White Mountain Adaptive Ski School, which teaches people with disabilities how to ski. Tickets can be purchased at the Guest Services Office located in the Gondola Barn until 11:00 am, Friday Dec. 31.

Other events scheduled for the millennium celebration include a family-style block party with bonfires, sleigh rides and fireworks, the Seventh Annual Loon Mountain Consumer Equipment On-Snow Demo, and many other parties.
