Mammoth Mountain, CA July 13, 2004 - A new chairlift, a remodeled hotel and employeehousing highlight Mammoth's summer improvements. In an effort to enhancethe experience for skiers and riders, Mammoth has dedicated over $95 millionto improvements over the last five years.

Learning Area at Canyon Lodge
Mammoth is taking advantage of the warm summer months to upgrade Chair 17from a three-person fixed grip chair to a high-speed quad.

"The Chair 17 project represents much more than replacing an old chair,"said Pam Murphy, Senior Vice President at Mammoth Mountain. "It'sdeveloping a terrific new beginner area in one of our most popular baseareas, taking skiers to a great starting point on the mountain that wasformerly not as easy to access. Plus, the shorter ride time and easierloading and unloading mean that new skiers will have a better overallexperience on the hill."

Remodel at the Mammoth Mountain Inn
This summer also marks the final stages of a multi-million dollar remodelingproject at the Mammoth Mountain Inn. Located at Mammoth Mountain's MainLodge with ski-in/ski-out accommodations, Mammoth Mountain Inn'ssecond-phase remodel will focus on upgrading guest rooms and condos in theboth the West and East Annex buildings, which house 95 units, along withpublic areas, the Sierra Room and the Fireside Lounge.

The remodel will bring a more cozy and mountain-like craftsman feel to theInn, with new carpet, wall coverings, beds with down comforters and pillows, new furniture and neutral colors. Bathrooms and kitchens will receive newtile and granite countertops. The final stage of the $4 million remodel isexpected to be complete by opening day of the 04/05 winter season.

Employee Housing
Mammoth has also made a substantial investment in employee housing thissummer by purchasing the Chutes Apartments, conveniently located nearshuttle service on Minaret Road between Main Street and Meridian. The newbuilding has apartment style living, with single rooms attached to a commonarea, kitchen, and bathroom. The purchase adds another 101 beds forseasonal employees, helping to relieve the winter season housing crunch.Kitchens and common areas in the Snowgoose Inn will also be remodeled thissummer.

Smaller-scale projects include but are not limited to improvements tosnowmaking equipment, a new sound system for the Unbound Terrain Park andfour new grooming snowcats.
