Saint-Sauveur-des-Monts, Quebec, Canada Feb. 2--Mont Saint-Sauveur International announced its purchase of Edelweiss Valley on February 1, giving the company its first presence in the Ottawa/Hull market.

Edelweiss offers 150 acres of skiable terrain with 27 groomed trails served by four lifts (one is a detachable high-speed quad). The total acreage of the ski area is 1,300, much of which has real estate potential.

Greg McCullough, GM of Ski Morin Hights, has been named GM of Edelweiss. The acquisition brings Mont Saint-Sauveur International's ski area count up to seven, the others being Mount Saint-Sauveur, Mont Avila, Ski Morin Heights, Mont Olympia and Ski Mont Gabriel, Quebec and Jay Peak, Vt.
