Park City, Utah (USST release) -- Before you put on your snow boots this season, try on your dancing shoes and join the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation as they celebrate America's most successful Winter Olympics team at the annual Ski and Snowboard Balls in six major cities - San Francisco (Oct. 4), Boston (Oct. 11), Chicago (Nov. 1), New York (Nov. 14), Salt Lake City (Jan. 24) and Denver (Jan. 10).

"We set a goal several years ago to win 10 Olympic medals in Salt Lake City and we did it," said Janine Alfano, senior director of development for the Foundation. "That's the most Olympic medals ever in skiing and snowboarding, and we want to celebrate with the fans and donors who helped make that goal a reality."

Ski fans will have the opportunity to meet several 2002 Olympic medalists, including snowboarding gold medalist Kelly Clark (Mount Snow, VT; halfpipe), silver medalists Bode Miller (Franconia, NH; alpine combined and giant slalom), Shannon Bahrke (Tahoe City, CA; moguls), Joe Pack (Park City, UT; aerials) and snowboarding bronze medalist Chris Klug (Aspen, CO' parallel GS). In addition, greats such as Picabo Street (Park City, UT; '98 super G gold and '94 downhillsilver), Jonny Moseley (Tiburon, CA; '98 moguls gold) and the Mahre twins , Phil (Yakima, WA; '84 slalom gold and '80 SL silver) and Steve (also Yakima; '84 SL silver), to name a few. All will be attending Ski Balls accompanied by rising U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team athletes.

"The Balls provide a great opportunity to bring together America's best athletes with the people who support them," said Alfano. "Together with the local networks of volunteers and sponsors we create an entertaining and enjoyable evening not to be missed."

Each Ball will have a flavor of its own including live entertainment like the Bill Polack Orchestra, a daredevil, indoor trampoline show by Flying Ace Productions starring freestyle skiing greats Trace Worthington (Park City, UT) and Fuzz Feddersen (Steamboat Springs, CO), or guest appearances by celebrity fans.
