A new website, flightcaster.com, aims to alert travelers to flight delays hours before the airlines would, allowing for easier rebooking and planning. How? By crunching crucial data—including weather reports, the prior flight’s departure and arrival status and FAA updates—the site predicts the likelihood of a delay up to six hours ahead of time. And it claims an 85 percent accuracy rate. Considering the info is free at flightcaster.com, it’s hard to see a downside—just more well-informed travelers.
