That means the resortnow will go before the state for its Act 250 hearing process to determine whether the project meets Vermont environmental and land-use law.

Phase I includes plansto build a five-story 117-condominium hotel, 15 new trails and three lifts. It is only the first part of a multi-phase expansion that will also see a second base area and village with 450 homes, retail shops and restaurants.

Plans also call for five acres of glades on the mountain and a total of five lifts when the project is complete. According to Okemo President Tim Mueller, the resort hopes to begin construction this summer.
