LOVELAND, CO - March 22, 2007 - The warm weather and soft snow have been around for a few weeks, but now it is officially spring. Loveland Ski Area is celebrating the season with great events, awesome deals and naturally, some of the best spring skiing and riding in Colorado. The forecast is calling for a healthy mix of sunny days and snow showers, helping to ensure that the conditions at Loveland Ski Area will be great through closing day, May 6th.

Spring at Loveland Ski Area isn't just about the great turns you can make on the mountain, it's also about the fun events taking place nearly every weekend that give people the opportunity to play in the sun, try new things, test their on-mountain skills, make some new friends and raise money for worthy causes.

"Spring is such a great time to visit Loveland Ski Area, said Duncan Maxwell, Events and Promotions Coordinator. "The weather is beautiful and the conditions are unbeatable. And to top it all off, we have so many events scheduled that anyone and everyone can participate in something. Here are the events Loveland Ski Area has scheduled this spring:

March 24th: Vert Alert Session One — The first of two sessions open to amateur skiers and riders competing for thousands of dollars worth of prizes. This event includes a slope style competition and rail jam and takes place in Loveland Ski Area's LOVE Park

April 1st: New Belgium Brewery Scavenger Hunt — Compete in teams of up to four people or as an individual. Riddles and clues lead participants around Loveland Ski Area looking to earn points for great prizes with proceeds going to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center.

April 7th: 3-Pin Grin Telemark Festival — Telemark skiers race through bumps, jumps and an uphill finish on the black diamond run, Cats Meow, visible from the base area. Live music by Oakhurst is also scheduled for the base area festivities.

April 14th-15th: Loveland Derby — The longest running downhill race in the country, the 47th annual Loveland Derby is a spring skiing institution.

April 21st: Vert Alert Session Two — The second of two sessions again held in LOVE Park with thousands of dollars of prizes up for grabs.

April 28th: Corn Harvest — Participants enjoy spring skiing at its best, complete with a BBQ, live music from Oakhurst, raffle, and New Belgium Beer with proceeds going to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center.

There are also great late season deals in the Loveland Sport Shops and through Loveland Central Reservations; every bargain hunter knows the end of the season is the best time to buy!
