<!--paging_filter--><!--paging_filter-->If you judge a ski hotel by its proximity to the slopes, Encantado falls short. But if you judge it by its ability to turn your ski trip into an indulgent getaway, you’re in luck.
Set on 57 acres in Tesuque (10 minutes from Santa Fe; 40 minutes from Ski Santa Fe via complimentary hotel shuttle), Encantado’s 65 low-slung casitas are scattered around the property. Each is decorated in soft earth tones and has a wood-burning kiva fireplace, wood-beamed ceilings and an ample terrace. Beds are luxurious, heated concrete floors keep bare feet warm, and bathtubs are roomy enough for two.
Start the day with yoga in the 800-square-foot movement studio. After a day on the slopes, return to a blue-corn-and-honey renewal treatment at the Spa at Encantado. Follow that with dinner at Terra Restaurant, where chef Charles Dale creates dishes such as Southwestern lamb shank cassoulet with green chili sausage, duck confit and Anasazi beans.
