SALT LAKE CITY (AP) _ House Majority Whip David Ure wants parents of international athletes to stay with Utah families during the 2002 Winter Olympics.

The idea came from former U.S. ski team head and Howard Peterson, a resident of Kamas, Ure said Tuesday.

As a team leader at the last four Winter Olympics, Peterson said he often helped find homes for the parents of American athletes. Staying with a host family, he said, was one of the Olympic highlights for athletes' parents.

``Typically they would only be here five or six days'' during their children's competitions, Peterson said.
