John Fry, senior contributor, and former editor of SKI, was honored twice, winning the Book Writing category for his definitive “The Story of Modern Skiing,” which chronicles the changes that revolutionized the sport in the last half of the 20th century. Fry also won honors in the Newspaper and Magazine Column category for his SKI magazine Legacy column, which explores the rich traditions of skiing in each issue.

Jay Cowan, longtime SKI contributor, won the Magazine Features award. Cowan has written many stories for SKI, including Skiing with James Bond, which was included in the 2009 Best Travel Writing anthology.
