What to look for
It's hard to enjoy skiing when your hands are cold or wet. Select gloves made with well-insulated, breathable fabrics that wick away moisture. HydroSeal and Gore-Tex inserts keep water out, and removable fleece liners make glove drying easier. Drawcords seal out snow and hold in body heat.
It's a mitten with a glove's personality¿shaped like a mitten for warmth, the insulated lining has compartments for your fingers, making it easier to grip your pole or zip your jacket. The lining uses new photonics technology to retain heat. And though the mitten is waterproof, its fabric is soft¿inside and out.
The Off Piste makes a splash with new color choices, but the real bonus is its waterproof/breathable insert and its moisture-wicking lining. The insulation is synthetic down, so it won't retain water. A barrel-lock drawcord cinches the short cuff. The palm uses a soft, yet strong leather that's comfortable but may slip on poles with plastic grips.
As the official glove of Vail Resorts' ski instructors, the Warrior must stand up to hours and hours of slope time. Its ultrasoft drum-dyed leather is comfortable and flexible. And the lining¿made with a temperature-regulating fabric¿absorbs, stores and releases heat. Of course, leather gloves are great for skiing the sunny back bowls of Vail, but watch out for stormy weather.
Dubbed as a "Hybrid" crossover glove for both skiing and snowboarding, the Python will keep any snowsports enthusiast happy¿with warm hands and a full wallet. Its shell consists of rugged Ripstop Nylon and Cordura, with a hefty leather palm and power grip fingers. The lining is waterproof and breathable, and the insulation is substantial. The cuff extends over jacket sleeves and the adjustable strap keeps the wet out¿no matter how many boards are under your feet.
If you're looking for a good glove without all the bells and whistles that can drive up the price, the RFC Cuff is for you. Its palm is made of a combination of leather and synthetic material to reinforce wear spots. A Gore-Tex insert works with Primaloft insulation for warmth and dryness. The RFC's cuff fits snugly around the wrist. But don't get the cuff wet: It's knit and not waterproof.

Copper Jacket Glove
The Drop Zone Collection¿Scott USA's all-mountain inspired line¿combines the cool look of freeskiing with an arsenal of technical features. A long, over-cuff gauntlet pulls over jacket sleeves to keep the elements out. Though a soft band of fleece that runs along the knuckles retains moisture, a waterproof/breathable membrane works with a removable wicking fleece liner to keep your hands dry.
