Snowbird, Utah (press release) - Snowbird's 2002-03 season kicks off Friday, Nov. 22, withskiing and riding on 33 inches of natural and man-made snow. Snowbird willopen at 9 a.m. with the Gadzoom, Gad 2 and Mid Gad chairlifts accessingbeginner, intermediate and advanced terrain in Gad Valley.
The all-day ticket price will be $38 a day until additional terrain opens.
New this season, Snowbird will offer beginner, intermediate and advancedterrain parks as well as a night snow skate park on Chickadee. The BabyThunder area on the western edge of the resort will be dedicated to terrainpark features. Snowbird will also introduce new guided snowmobile toursbeginning in Mineral Basin and exploring terrain southeast of the resort.These new offerings will begin as soon as snow conditions permit.
Before skiers and snowboarders take to the slopes Friday, they may choose toutilize a revolutionary new ceOsk(tm) touch screen ticketing and reservations system to purchase myriad ticket products at the year roundresort. Stationed throughout Snowbird's lodging properties and guest areas,the freestanding ceOsk machines soon will dispense tickets for everythingfrom lifts and the Aerial Tram to Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, ski movies,night skiing and more. The integrated ticketing process allows guests toquickly and easily purchase Snowbird tickets and activities either online orat the resort utilizing the user friendly, touch screen ceOsk ticketingsystems.
"We expect this new ticketing system will make vacationing at Snowbirdeasier for families as well as the day visitor," said Snowbird ChiefFinancial Officer Tom Jones. When it's fully developed, people will be able to go online, choosewhat they want to do during their Snowbird vacation and the tickets will bewaiting when they arrive.
