Park City, Utah (Jan. 29) AP - Colorado football player Jeremy Bloom qualified for the moguls finals at the World Freestyle Championships on Wednesday, while Olympic champion Kari Traa of Norway led the women's competition.

Bloom, who finished fifth nationally in punt returns while playing with the Buffaloes last season, will participate in the finals Friday, along with U.S. teammates Travis Cabral, Travis Mayer and Toby Dawson.

Cabral topped the men. He interrupted his mogul run with a "Heli-X" off the first kicker and a double-twister, spread eagle combination off the second, a performance that earned him 26.77 points.

Defending world moguls champion Mikko Ronkainen of Finland qualified second, with a 26.17 score, while teammate and Olympic gold medalist Janne Lahtela qualified fifth.

Traa, who won the 2002 Olympic moguls gold on this same run, blended a 360-degree "Heli-X" rotation off the first kicker and a more conservative twister off the second with aggressive skiing down the course for a 25.15 score from the judges.

Olympic silver medalist Shannon Bahrke, Michelle Roark and Emiko Torito qualified for the finals from the U.S. team.
