What type of ski?

What type of ski?

I'm 53 and have just had total knee replacement. Doctor recomends that I stay on the groomers and slow down. I'm a past ski patrol, club racer and work in the ski industry as a equipment manager. The ski brands that I sell are Atomic, Rossi, Sal,and K2. I usually ski a stiff ski and like to make Gs turns and drive down the mountain. I ski all over from the East to the West and need a ski with a waist of 82 or greater. I have in mind the Atomic crimson, Rossi B82 avenger ect. I just need a second opinion! I'm I still stuck in thinking stiff or what. I have skied the Atomic D2vf82 and liked it,except for the weight. I'm my worst emeny and I know it, also what kinds of exercise and fitness training do you think I can do. Any Ideas!

I recommend retraining your brain. I had hip surgery and wanted to do the things that I was used to doing and got hurt again. Stop and think for a moment. Do I want to ski for a long time, and enjoy it, or not ski at all? After you answer that question, it will come to you. I had to stop doing what I wanted to and do what I should. Go soft and enjoy the sports for years to come. I just got my pass and can't wait. 51 Yrs young and hope to ski till 80.Listern to your doctor.

Yes, I agree with skidaddy.. I've had 3 surgeries and only 44 and feel arthritic have the time. Takes time to find the "happy medium" and slow down. I'd rather do the rinky dink runs and keep skiing longer as I age. I ski hard for an hour or two , then take the groomers. I don't have to be the first there and the last to leave anymore. I too am looking for a new ski. I hear the rocker skis are supposed to be really nice and smooth.. some for all mountains. I did buy The Vokle Kiku as a used demo ski. Got a great deal! Will be fun to try, otherwise I may trade and sell them. good luck and enjoy the upcoming season! I already bought one pass to Copper Mntn, and was camping in Vail/ Aspen a couple of weeks ago. Gets you motivated!
I ski the Rossi B1. It's a great all-around ski: light, versatile, and forgiving. I love them!
