Day Four: Howelsen Hill

Day Four: Howelsen Hill

Howelsen Hill 2:00P.M.-2:27P.M. Vertical: 450 feet
The oldest operating ski resort in Colorado, Howelsen Hill is home to many top racers and ski jumpers. Only one chairlift and one Poma provide access to all of the Hill's 450 vertical feet of terrain.

The Poma was possibly the steepest one I have ever ridden. The track was narrow and crossed several ledges where ski jumpers would exit to their start positions.

The run was short, but had a steep pitch to it, perfect for the slalom training that was taking place there. This was another quick little hit, but not because we were trying to make up time, just because it was keeping with the feel of Howelsen.
