Keystone, CO, Oct. 31, 2000--This Halloween Keystone Resort, CO, offered an intermediate run with over 900 vertical feet of terrain for skiers to enjoy. Throughout the day snowflakes drifted down, giving a dusting to the 18-inch base on the Haywood trail.

At the bottom of the Argentine lift in the Mountain House base area, lift operators stood amidst jack-o-lanterns and quizzed skiers on their Trivial Pursuit knowledge. When reaching the top of the lift another friendly operator offered treats in the sprit of Halloween. Skiing down the slope, skiers and boarders alike could perform tricks on a designated kicker, or simply schuss down the newly minted slope, which opened for the season on Saturday, Oct. 28.

The forecast for All Hallows' eve calls for more snow throughout the night. "We're hoping to open more terrain as soon as possible," said Bill Miller, director of mountain operations. "We just need Mother Nature to continue cooperating with us. Then we'll be able to open more trails."
