Boyne Mountain Resort, MI

Cost: Three nights, $638 per person.

What you get: From December 30, to January 1, you get three days of skiing, lodging at the Boyne Mountain Resort, and dinner and breakfast every day.

What's happening: For New Year's, $50 gets you into Boyne's "Big" New Year's Eve Party that includes live music, fireworks, and a torchlight parade on the mountain.

Indianhead Mountain Resort, MI

Cost: Three nights, $964 for two people; three nights, $1, 563 for four people.

What you get: A three-night stay trailside in either a hotel or condominium from Dec. 30-Jan. 2. This package includes $150 of "Millennium Money" which can be used all over the mountain for anything from lift tickets to ski rentals.

What's happening: For New Year's Eve, Indianhead has a full agenda of events for all ages. The festivities include a traditional New Year's Eve dinner party for adults, a teen dance party, a magician for children, and fireworks for all. Leading up to the big day, Indianhead offers breakfasts and brunches every morning and a make-your-own Bloody Mary bar at the bottom of the mountain. On New Years Day, a judge will be available at an ice sculpted chapel and alter for anyone who wants to get married or renew their vows slopeside.

Cascade Mountain Ski & Snowboard Area, WI

Cost: Two nights, $245 per person, double-occupancy; Two nights, $200 per person, quad-occupancy in a hotel room with two queen-sized beds.

What you get: Two nights in any one of the many hotels surrounding Cascade Mountain, such as the Days Inn at Portage. The package includes a complimentary lift ticket for the arrival night on December 30, two more lift tickets (good from 9 am to 10 p.m. daily), an late-night ski pass for New Year's Eve, two breakfasts, one dinner, and a ski school lesson or NASTAR race.

What's happening: On New Year's Eve, a dance party with a DJ will rock the base area and an all-night ski party rips up the mountain until 4 am on New Year's morning.
