This Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 4-6), the only place in North America you'll have a chance to make tracks is Timberline Ski Area in Timberline Lodge, OR. Two lifts will service approximately one third of the mountain, running from 7:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. all weekend long. Spring skiing conditions are expected.
If skiing isn't your thing, Timberline will be holding the Wine & Craft Fair in the base lodge throughout the weekend. The fair features local artists and regional winemakers who bring their crafts to sell and sample. After skiing, a quick 30-minute drive down Route 26 will take you to Whispering Woods Golf Course, where a round of 18-holes costs $44 during the day and $22 during twilight hours (after 4p.m.). Timberline is open 350-plus days a year and only shuts down for ten days after Labor Day Weekend for required lift maintenance. This year, Timberline will re-open again on September 18th.
