Traveler Deals:

Want to actually get something for that $22 you drop every month on AOL? If so, check out and, two websites dedicated to the frugal skier in each of us.

All the savings at stem from the site's Tahoe Card, purchased online for $25. As its name would suggest, the card's discounts are for the ski areas around Lake Tahoe. Season-long deals include a $10 discount on lift tickets for Alpine Meadows (with no restrictions), as well as 15 percent off food and drink at the Naughty Dawg and half-priced lodging at the Lake of the Sky, both in Tahoe City. Two one-time-only deals offered at local ski shops¿a free stone-grind tune-up and a free day of high-end demo rental¿easily cover the card's cost. Though clearly sweetest for residents of Northern California, the card is still worth it for any out-of-stater heading to Tahoe. allows users to print out coupons for use at various ski areas and ski towns around the country. Anyone with a printer can score two-for-one entrées, free bowling, and discounts on everything from ski gear to spa treatments to snowmobile rentals. is still in its infant stages, and most of the coupons currently offered are for use in Colorado and California, but the site's continual addition of 40 to 50 coupons a week should soon include much of New England and Utah. You might not find a coupon you can use on the site today, but is worth a bookmark and a quick perusal before future trips to the mountain.
